Hi Loves,

This week we had a journey to the self governed state of Jeju Island, a volcanic island off of the southern tip of the Korean peninsula. Jeju is a beautiful place that is renowned for three things, no gates, no thieves, and no homelessness. It is also known as the island of peace. It has developed beach resorts as well as many traditional native villages, and there are ancient statues of guardian grandfather spirits called dollharobongs on every street and in every building. Jeju is also well known for its seafood (which we ate often and raw,) black pig pork, delicious tangerines, and healing water. As soon as we landed I felt my heart open up and a rush excitement rush through my body. Others also felt the same way. I believe this is a special place on Earth. Let me break down the trip for you.

DAY 1
After landing we went directly to Jeju University to visit with students and promote our event which would happen that evening. Soon after we finished promoting, we visited an ancient ceremonial alter where natives would perform Chun Je (Heaven’s Ceremony) to pray for those who recently passed away. We had time to meditate there and connect our internal energy to the nature of spirit of that place. I felt connected to the presence of a powerful and holy spirit.
When we finished meditating we returned to the University for our event. There were about fifty people, both professors and student. First we demonstration ChunBuShin Gong, then the Phoenix Dance, then Danielle and Brandon walked on their hands as I demonstrated hand stand pressups, finally I gave a lecture and training for about forty minutes. The audience seemed really blown away and so intrigued and fascinated by the subject matter of the lecture.
After the event we had a Korean Barbecue feast with the Jeju University’s Body and Brain Club. In general they are shy people, very watchful and kind, humble, but when the time is right they can be quite outgoing. We return to the nearest Dahn Center and had a celebration complete with birthday cake for Danielle, Brandon and I, dancing, and demonstrations by all.
Finally we ended our night by going to Jeju Kookhakkwon (School for traditional Korean Study) where shared, meditated on our day, and slept.

DAY 2
At sunrise we were off to U-Do Island. We took a Ferry to get there and rent Mopeds to get around. We spent about three hours or so and made one complete lap around the Island. During which we say many natives, some of whom were diving for sea urchins (the women here are known to be able to hold their breath for up to five minutes while diving for sea urchins,)others were selling fishcakes or fruit, while some youths were playing soccer on the sidewalk against a wall. We also visited the cliffs and beaches, and even though it was very cold Brandon and I decided to swim in the ocean. I scraped my chest on a rock on the bottom, but I’m ok.
After leaving the island we climbed Sunrise peak (the volcano that erupted about 5000 years ago and created a connection between it and the rest of Jeju Island.) It took about three hours to get to the top where we practiced ChunBuShin Gong meditation and took many pictures.
The theme for this day way recuperation, so after the island and hiking we visited a Korean spa owned by a Dahn member. Korean spa’s are a quite personal place for American taste. There the men and women go to separate rooms after which there is no clothing. There are hot tubs and cold tubs and showers and someone who will scrub your skin. After those rooms you go into small clay rooms that are heated to 80-90 degrees C. After one or two minutes inside I was dripping sweat, I decided to stretch, meditate, and practice DahnMuDo and I felt the power inside my body multiplying and growing with each breath. It required focus after more than five minutes to not just run out.
We left the spa feeling refreshed and went back to Kookhakwon where we meditated in Il posture from ChunBuShin Gong and prepared for tomorrow and Ilchi Seuseungnim’s lecture.

DAY 3
Today was Ilchi Seuseungnim’s lecture to Jeju Island. He had been given a special tribute as honorary Public Relations and Peace Ambassador, and there were several thousands in attendance. We arrived at nine and had rehearsal and preparation time. We stretched, sweated, and meditated in Il posture for twenty minutes. Our demonstration was first and during it I felt the energy connect with the entire audience. It is as if light or cosmic energy is coming into our bodies from above our heads and below our feet and a giant sphere of energy surrounds our bodies and encapsulates everyone there. I made a short speech introducing ourselves and the theme of the convention. Then the B-boys demonstrated and we went out to join them on the last song. Finally Ilchi Seuseungnim gave an enlightening lecture and training.
After the event, Ana and I met with Master Gaia in a very beautiful private conference room. She is a very motherly figure who has been watching us and taking very good care of us. She seems to take care of so many things and it feels very special that she takes the amount time that she does to focus on and care for us. Ana and I were told that Ilchi SSN was giving a lecture to all of the congressmen of the Island and he wanted us to attend and to stand beside him to demonstrate any exercise that he wanted them to do. Also, she said that he wanted me to share with them about this practice and my experience. I felt very honored.
Afterwards the rest of our team was invited into the room and Master Gaia treated us to a gourmet dinner together. When we finished dinner and returned to Kookhakwon we were lead in an intestinal cleanse. We lied down and the trainer put a packet of soy bean paste on our bellies. It was a very interesting feeling as the packet stayed hot for several hours. We did 3000 intestinal exercises and I felt many old pieces of stuck food and other junk start to move around, loosen, and break off the walls of my intestines (the next day we all had to use the rest room many times.)

DAY 4
Ana and I woke early to arrive at the event before the Congressmen. I was very touched as out of all the important people there, Ilchi SSN asked us to meet him first just to smile at us, share a look in each others eyes, and shake our hands. He was introduced by a video clip. Then he went up and gave his lecture. Half way through he invited Ana and I and we demonstrated exercises and the congressmen followed along. I was pretty nervous because Ilchi SSN would give the directions for the exercises in Korean so most of the time it was actually Ana and I who were following the congressmen and then checking to see if we were doing it right and not the other way around : )
When I shared about how important I think the Jeju and ancient Korean philosophy of peace is many of the congressmen were moved. They paid very close attention to what I said, and given the impact Ilchi SSN made on them their minds seemed so open and the possibility of a greater peace seemed like reality.
Afterwards we met with the rest of the team for lunch and then visited city hall. Then we visited Halla University with the Jeju B & B Captain to talk with and hopefully inspire some of the students to start a Body and Brain Club. The students there were very open, very joking, and so happy to meet us and learn about this opportunity for them. Next, we went to a Dahn Center for YEHA night were we demonstrated and I gave a lecture. I really enjoy meeting the Dahn Center members. They are so full of love and energy and seem to be the most involved and interested. Also they are the so open that I feel like I can share completely earnestly and honestly with them without fear of offending any preconceptions, but rather with faith that they will embrace and support any information or idea.

DAY 5
Today we are returning to the main land will work on our media production to share with you. Look out for episode one today and two and three in the next few days.

My heart is full of hope that our group will make a real impact, and that we will touch people hearts. We are truly honest and sincere and our hearts are pure with hope for making a peaceful and harmonious world where all people love and help one another or as it is said in Korea HongIkIhnGahnEHwaSaeGae. From this hope we would like to share our story. So from this week on we will start filming for a video that we will air at the end of each week.

March 16 2008

Today we gave a Demonstration of ChunBuShinGong to Korea's the top Media personal in Seoul. After the demonstration I lead warm up exercise for about twenty minutes before Ilchi Seuseungnim's lecture. This was quite an honor. They really took to the exercise and were smiling or laughing much of the time. We also worked up a small sweat.

During the lecture Seuseungnim was so comfortable, he was sitting on the floor with everyone in a circle and everyone was openly sharing their feelings. I imagine that this will be a historical meeting in Korea's history. He spoke about how lucky they are to be gifted writers and how they can share the message of hope with Korea. He spoke about that for more the two hours and I think Korea's media will drastically change. this is really an amazing thing to witness, and something we can imitate in States.

One of our members, Adam, decided that he should leave today. This really rocked me. I thought, if i were truly creating the ideal world and connected to the philosophy that i am teaching then he would not want to leave. In a way that is true and it can be a wake up call to connect deeper and truly make this what everyone is undeniably in need for. so that they can feel their hope through what we are sharing.
Also i feel that if his heart is calling him towards another path then I want to support him to grow there. I shared this with him and as long as we share this spirit, then no matter what the consequences, we are brothers.

March 15 2008

We gave a demonstration in front of 2,333 Dahn masters today! It was truly amazing to see and feel their powerful energy I felt connected to the joy inside each and everyone of them.

Afterwards I was asked to give a half an hour lecture about the HongIK philosophy. I spoke about my story, the history of Korea, the ChunBuKyung, and the HongIk movement around the world. this was a huge honor, and many jidoja were moved to tears. I was truly touched and received many thanks, I am so appreciative of my fellow Jidoja's mind. I saw how many people support this movement here is Korea and the potential for America. Also I was able to see a glimpse of my own potential which is something very special for me. More then anything I feel grateful for that, and as we move on I pray to be in the situation where I am able to use that more and more for widely benefiting humanity and the Earth. I was also inspired to encourage and support my fellow team members to have that experience as well, and we will be touring to different Universities where they will be giving inspirational lectures also.

Afterwards we had a ChunJe (heavens ceremony) and connected through meditation. then there was a lecture by Ilchi Seuseungnim about his new book Brain Wave Vibration Training. The book is only in Korean now, but will be translated into ten different languages soon. the Concept of brain wave vibrations training is really remarkable.

It is simple exercise that teaches not only how to feel and become aware of your own brain waves, but how to actually control them. beyond that it goes into depth on how to use and create your brain waves to manifest success, health, peace, and happiness in your life. I will speak more about this later as it is the bulk of what we are sharing with Korea.

the rest of his lecture was very fun and inspirational. We sang many songs and he shared that this is how he is practicing to learn English. From a Distance, When I Need Love, and You Raise Me Up are three of his favorites.

Before March 15 2008

We have had three big performances in three of the major provinces in Korea, Buson, the City of Light, and Matson (I think) there were several thousand people at each of these. they are really blown away by our performance, after us is the Dahn Gun Arirang B-boys. they are incredible its as if they have bones like birds so light an strong that they can fly. after our performances I give a short introduction to ourselves and the event. it seems like a great way to start things off and Ilchi Seuseungnim always has a huge smile on his face while we perform or I speak. I am glad we are making him happy as he is a very hospitable host.

We've been given a team of people who take care of us, very special trainings and privileges, delicious Korean food, a great education, a cultural experience, and a chance to work for world peace. If we are successful then many more will be able to travel and do this work as well.

Thats all for now. Pictures and videos to come
